The collapsible shaft makes this thing tiny enough to disappear into my pack's side pocket, yet it still digs through packed dirt without bending. The aluminum blade is surprisingly rigid for how light the whole shovel feels in hand.

Took this on a weekend hike and it handled some rocky dirt fine for a compact shovel. The telescoping shaft collapses small enough to strap onto my pack, though the twist lock slipped once when I really leaned on it. Still, the aluminum blade held up better than I expected for the weight.

The gray finish on the aluminum blade looks sharp, and it's genuinely light enough to clip onto my pack without noticing it's there. Collapsing it back down for storage takes a few seconds once you get the hang of it, though the locking mechanism does need a bit of a firm twist. Solid little tool fo
